Augustin Nicolescou is the Co-Director of the Herbert C Kelman Institute, working on the development and implementation of the Institute’s activities, as well as training and consulting in conflict transformation, dialogue, and conflict sensitive development. He joined the institute when it was founded in 2005, and worked as project coordinator of its Sri Lanka Track 1.5 problem-solving workshop and dialogue project. From 2011-2012 he worked at the Brussels office of Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) to support the development of mediation policies in regional organizations such as ASEAN and the EU. He delivers trainings on conflict transformation, dialogue, and conflict sensitivity in Europe and Central Asia. He is a graduate of McGill University, with a B.A. in Political Science, and an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the European University Centre for Peace Studies in Austria.
