Conflict transformation

Between 2005 and 2010, the Institute, under the leadership of Wilfried Graf and Gudrun Kramer, devoted much of its effort to supporting the peace process and post-tsunami reconstruction in Sri Lanka. Since 20010, the activities’ focus has shifted to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Kelman Institute established a hub in Jerusalem and is pursuing a variety of projects in the wider region. The Institute also has a long-standing engagement within Austria, in particular addressing the tensions between the Austrian Slovenian-speaking minority and the German-speaking majority.

In addition to these two main areas of activities in conflict settings, the Institute is engaged in a number of processes and provides support and consulting services in other regions of the world, from Eastern Europe, to Central Asia and South America.
